Primark Vitamin C Beauty Range Has Rave Reviews

Budget skincare is having a big moment right now. These low-cost, high performers have proved that they’re just as capable of taking on the big guys and that they’re no less hard-working than their higher-priced counterparts. This is something brands such as The Ordinary have educated us all in, becoming consumer champions with their powerful, ingredient-led formulas that have been hailed as “game-changing” by beauty lovers everywhere - with some of their best-selling products costing a purse-friendly £4.

Well, guess what? Primark have jumped on the bandwagon too and it seems bloggers have noticed. The Vitamin C range, which dropped in 2019, has been one of the retailer’s top-selling beauty ranges.

Vitamin C-based skincare has become a go-to ingredient because of it’s brightening and pollution-fighting properties - while we can get the vitamin from our diets, it reaches the skin at the very end of the digestion process so using it topically helps give us a more efficient dosage.

Linda Blahr, Head of National Training at SkinCeutical, told GLAMOUR, “[vitamin C] supports and strengthens skin cells to fight against environmental aggressors such as UV, Infrared Radiation and pollution, which are the main culprits of oxidative stress in skin," helping us glow and look fresher.

Primark’s Vitamin C collection includes the Vitamin C Energizing Jelly Cleanser (£4), Vitamin C Daily Brightening Moisturiser (£3) Vitamin C Brightening Serum (£3), Vitamin C Brightening Face Mist (£3), Vitamin C Glow Revealing Pads (£2) and Vitamin C Revitalizing Bubble Sheet Mask (£1.50).

According to beauty blogger and makeup artist Shaz from Sheikh Beauty, “the jelly cleanser smells so good which made it a total luxury to use. It lightly exfoliates your skin to reveal a soft and super clean complexion. What’s more, it’s vegan friendly... as if you needed another reason to buy it!"

Shaz added, “Following with the serum- it is so moisturising and actually makes me glow all day! It was such a nice step after the jelly cleanser strips your face of all the dirt and build up. Then there’s the lotion, which is great for dehydrated skin and leaves the skin plump and glowing. In fact, it actually primes your face for the next step- making it the ideal base for makeup.”

She explained, “The long term effects of the Primark Vitamin C range I would say, is the brightening effect it has on your skin. It helps significantly with dullness and overall just gives your skin that beautiful refreshed glow, that no amount of makeup can give.”

Other bloggers were in agreement about the glow effects from Primark’s Vitamin C range.

Beauty Siren commented that it “sinks into the skin quickly, smells of oranges and my skin has been brighter and clearer overall since I started using the range.”

Holly Madison also reviewed the range on YouTube telling her followers that “my mum even noticed and said my skin looked a lot better.” After four weeks of using the serum she said, “My skin feels super smooth - my skin definitely wasn’t this soft before I started using it. I feel like I’ve been reborn again and my skin is just like a baby.”

If you’re in need of a little Vitamin C injection into your skincare, Primark’s range might just be worth trying.
