NBA legend Dennis Rodman was one of the most successful players on the court. Many fans around the world consider him one of the best defensive players ever. However, off the court, he has faced a lot of difficulties. Over the course of his career, Rodman has earned $27 million in salaries reportedly. But the 5-time NBA champion once was homeless. The outspoken athlete once opened up about the time he was homeless in Dallas, Texas, where he would eventually conclude his 13-year NBA career.
The Hall of Famer was a special guest for the ‘Houston Life’ TV show on Houston’s Channel 2. During the show, Rodman answered a variety of questions from the hosts without any hesitation. Then one of the hosts asked him about his struggles and wanting to become better.

Subsequently, Rodman talked about him helping the homeless during thanksgiving. And disclosed that he used to be homeless himself. Interestingly, he said that when he went to the convention center and saw the homeless people there, it brought back a lot of memories and he felt at home.
Dennis Rodman opened up about being homeless
“I used to be homeless in Dallas, Texas, for two years,” Dennis Rodman disclosed, during the interview.
“It just brings back a lot of memories,” he continued. “And I walked down to the convention center, and I looked among the people. I said, ‘Wow! This was the good old days!’ I didn’t have no problems back then.”
“You know, I had no issues back then. I could just live my life the way I wanted. And I’m like, ‘Wow! I feel at home,'” he added.
Rodman also included that he could relate it to everything he has always done in his life. In fact, he stated that he is neither higher nor lower than anyone.
Dennis Rodman helped the Detroit Pistons win back-to-back NBA championships in 1989 and 1990. Once Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls finally beat the Pistons, they started showing dominance winning three straight titles. Later on, the seven-time rebounding champion would join the Bulls and contribute profoundly in their second three-peat.
