John Frieda haircare is no stranger to a hardworking hair mask. They've recently launched one that promises to be the MVP of hair masks and its main focus is to provide maximum hydration to dry, and lackluster hair and scalps. The Deep Sea Hydration Deep Conditioner Mask is formulated with nutrient-rich seaweed to harness nourishing power and to erase damage from the surface of the hair.
The best part might just be the oceanic rich scent, which transports you to the deep seas in an instant, and really amps up your in-shower experience, leaving you hair with a comforting yet refreshing scent. You thought you were only getting great hair but you actually got a lux olfactory journey on the side.
Now, back to the formula, which promises ultra-moisture galore. It is expertly blended with coconut oil, which serves as a smoothing alternative to silicone giving you silky hair, instant detangling, and, healthy movement. Bonus point: it works in just three minutes.
All you need to do is distribute it evenly to damp hair and watch the magic happen. However, how does this magic actually fair with the GLAMOUR team? Five people with different hair lengths and textures put the mask to the test, so keep scrolling to read their truest and most honest thoughts – and save when you shop with these Boots discount codes.

My hair is going through it right now! As we're transitioning from dry, cold days to warmer ones, my hair's struggling to keep up and retain its moisture. I was on day three hair when the John Frieda mask came my way, so it was perfect timing to test it on my dried-out curls that had been put through the ringer with gel, slick buns and warmer weather this week.
One of my pet peeves with hair masks is when I feel like I have to slather half the tub on my hair to feel like it's evenly coated so I loved how much the hair mask saturated into my hair without needing too much product. I left it on a little longer than the recommended three minutes for an extra boost of hydration and immediately noticed that my hair felt silkier when I rinsed it out. Once my hair was dry, my curls looked healthy, shiny and bouncy again. I'll definitely be reaching for this again for my weekly hair mask and the fact it's super affordable makes it even better.

Though the smell of this deep conditioner was immaculate – think, balmy summer hols - and it did make combing my hair a breeze, I wasn't *too* impressed with the condition of my hair post blow-dry. My ends felt a bit dry while my roots lacked volume and general lustre.
For hair that's a nightmare to detangle, this product is a godsend and my brush glided through my locks with ease; however, if you suffer with dryness and split ends, you may find a need to layer the product with an additional hair oil or serum. It's not a miracle worker, but if you keep on top of your 8-weekly hair cuts and use heat protector, you might find it's just the ticket.

I have afro hair, and currently styling it straight. I'm very particular about the products I use on my fro' and the main thing I look for is hydration, detangling and shine. John Frieda Deep Sea Hydration Deep Conditioner Mask landed on my desk at the perfect time, as it was wash day and I needed a fresh blow dry. I was curious to how it would fair on afro hair.
The first thing that grabs my attention is the scent. It's comforting yet refreshing, ideal for that in shower experience. I started by washing my hair thoroughly with shampoo and conditioner and then went in by sectioning my hair into four and applied a generous amount of the mask to my damp air. After leaving it on for three minutes, as instructed, I rinsed it well. I appreciated how it only needed three minutes out of my day, because hair wash day is long enough as it is.
Soon after the wash my I noticed that my hair did feel smoother to the touch, but it wasn't until I blowdried it when I noticed the real shine. It did give it an added level of glow. I can't say it was the most invigorating hair experience I've had with a hair mask, but it did maintain my hairs natural shine. This is of course after one use, so I assume it can only go up from here.

As someone with thin, dry and generally uninspiring hair, I’m always excited to try a new hair mask as part of my routine. Especially as we head into summer, I love having something in my arsenal to give hair a little pick me up after being exposed to sun all day. So John Frieda’s deep sea hydration mask landed on my desk at just the right time!
I loved the light floral smell this had on opening – not overwhelmingly strong but still fresh. The product itself had a light whipped texture which made it a breeze to apply, it wasn't gloopy at all as some hair masks can be. After applying generously and washing I definitely noticed that my hair looked shinier and smoother without feeling weighed down. Overall I can see this being useful for the days where my hair is feeling dried out from the elements and will definitely be reusing.

As a curly-haired girl, my hair usually suffers from dryness, so basically, every product I use on my hair is meant to provide loads of hydration and moisture. Think, oils and thick creams. I rarely ever try products or even brands that aren't catered to curls and coils, so I was a bit nervous to try a product that didn't read “curly” or “natural hair” on the packaging. Although I wasn't sure at first, I was pleasantly surprised with the John Frieda Deep See Hydration Hair Mask. When I first scooped it in my hand to apply, I loved how thick and creamy the texture was.
This made the detangling process so much easier as the mask helped calm any tangles and made my hands slip through my curls easily. After leaving it in for three minutes and rinsing, my hair felt super soft and moisturised. Once it began to dry, my hair maintained the moisture and my curls definitely looked shinier. This is a product I would definitely reach for again if I'm in need of some extra moisture and shine.
