The Jane Tomlinson Appeal

Find out more about the Perkins Great Eastern Run charity partner.

The Jane Tomlinson Appeal was established by the late Jane Tomlinson CBE to raise funds for children's and cancer charities.

Jane was 36 when, in August 2000, she and her family received the devastating news she had terminal breast cancer.

When the Appeal was launched back in 2002 Jane & Mike Tomlinson set themselves the challenge of raising as much money as possible in order to support an array of children's and cancer charities across the country.

Over the next seven years she captured the attention of the world through her achievements as she outlived her initial six month prognosis.

With every endurance event Jane did came an overhwelming level of support from members of the public and before her death in 2007 Jane had raised an amazing £1.85million.

This total has now risen significantly to over £7.6 million for a range of organisations both local and nationally.

Perkins Great Eastern Run

This year, the appeal has been announced as one of the charity partners for Perkins Great Eastern Run in Peterborough on Sunday 9th October.

Her daughter Rebecca will be running the race in memory of her mother and has pledged that "every penny raised for the Appeal at the Perkins Great Eastern Run will be donated to charities and good causes in the local area."
