A.J. McLean had a hair transplant and is proud of it.
Via instagram today, the Backstreet Boy released a series of four before and after shots of his cosmetic procedure.
In the first two frames, hair has grown sporadically over the middle of his head like a sparsely watered Chia pet.

In the blurry third shot, a nice collection of hair appears to have formed on top.
In the final shot of the series, McLean has a full head of finely coiffed hair.
'Some girls get there boobs done some guys get ab implants all to make them happy!' he captioned the image.
'This was the one thing I did and I couldn't be happier thank u dr G!!!!'
The success of this procedure will allow the Backstreet Boy to go with or without his trademark hat when he performs live.
McLean also published a photo of his four-month-old baby girl Ava Jaymes, the first for he and his wife Rochelle.
Shortly after she was born, the boy band star who has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction in the past revealed to In Touch that he briefly fell off the wagon.
But with a new head of hair, a Backstreet Boys documentary in the works and a baby girl in his life, McLean is doing his best to stay sober.
'I can’t stress how much my daughter is an inspiration to stay sober,' McLean told In Touch in December 2012. 'When I come home and she opens those big blue eyes at me, it’s the most amazing feeling I could ever feel.'
'I’m not looking for sympathy. It’s a constant struggle, and it’s not as easy as you think.'
